DallasMania Return

OMG!  I am sooooo freakin sore in the legs, I can’t even walk.  Worse than Tony’s Plyo legs, if you can believe that.  Here is what I feel like.

I wish Matthew was here to carry me where I needed to go.  We did some exercises with a slanted riser in which you can purchase from Spri Products.  I have done lunges on the step before and they are brutle.  Adding a slanted riser in the mix gives a whole different meaning to sore.  We used resistant tubing as well and a double soreness.  I loved every minute of it, because I can come home and use it on my college kids.

I attended a few lectures classes regarding muscles and intergration.  AWESOME!  These guys were brillant.  Here is the link to check them out and you Personal Trainers if you are not already, you should sign up to become a member.  Such valuable information that will make YOU the best at the game and give you many more clients than you can think of.  Check these guys out at www.ptonthenet.com  You should also think about purchasing the Functional intergrated Abdominal Training DVD.  Chuck Wolf was the speaking and this guys knows what he is talking about.  Such valuable information.  I know I keep saying that, but he keeps you wanting more information.  Take what he has and run with it, you will be amazed.  Also, check any information from Michol Dalcourt.  Now, professor at University San Diego.  A transplant from Canada.  Also amazing.

Just wanted to let you know that if you ever get a chance to go to any fitness conferences you should go.  NCSA puts out some awesome trainings on sport specific.  Check out their websites for exams and workshops.  http://www.nsca-lift.org/

Now it is time to get to work.  I have to practice my Zumba.  That is alot of fun too.

Are they Still Melting…

It is Saturday and I have been sticking to the Eating Plan pretty good.  I have the plan on the fridge and each day I tape a new one on the fridge.

Did I reach my goal like I wanted?  No!  I did however drop 5 lbs and within a 1/2.  So, I lost 1 1/2 inches.

I started out the week good and ran on Monday and did my Turbo on Tuesday and Wednesday I just could not get the cardio in due to putting in Lowe’s blinds.  Thursday my sinuses started running and hit me like

this boulder right in the head.  I was pretty much on the couch most of the day and I did not get to do my Turbo or teach my class.  So, I took some of my Detox tea with some lemon juice and honey.  That seemed to do the trick.  Yesterday was OK. I still kept to my eating plan.

Today, I feel like I could go pretty good.  I should be on the treadmill right now, but instead I am writing this blog.  I have to stay with it if I want to see improvement.

I will run for about 45 to an hour and then I have to do my biceps and back.  I have been slackin on the P90x.  I feel bad.  Go to do it no holding back and NO EXCUSES!

If you want it, you have to work for it.

Another Shoulder Exercise

Well, I should be getting ready to do my leg workout.  I am really trying to get myself pschyed out about this because I know it is going to be hard.  I am going to attempt to do the one-on-one with Tony today.  I really should do the Power 90x legs and back workout.  What I was thinking about is combining the two together and doing the leg part with the one-on-one and then do back part with the Power 90x.  I think I will do that and see what happens.  I have two TV’s to work off of.  I think it will take longer than an hour but hey, it is Saturday and cleaning house is the last thing on my mind.

Well, as I have been really working on my arms and thinking about the shoulder exercises that I have been doing with the Power 90x.  I found another exercise that I remember that I and my morning group has not done in a while.  Let me tell you that I normally change up the exercises weekly for them so that they and I don’t get bored.  This week was a whammie.  OMG, we worked out soooo hard.  They told me not to eat my oatmeal in the mornings cause I way too much energy.  Better than eating that donut (Susan) in the mornings.  :)  Their chests, legs, arms were all sore.  I have to be honest it kicked my butt also.  I was sore and still sore from all of exercises, especially in the chest area, where I went ballistic and did I don’t know how many push-ups with a down 2 up 2 as well.  My legs seem to be fine.  My shins are slightly sore, but not too bad today.  I will fix that problem here real soon.

Okay, for the exercise.  Now, you can have a 3-lb, 5-lb, and maybe up to 10-lb. 10-lb is really pushing it.  Start off in a shoulder press position.  Making an “L” with your arms on the right and the left side.  Think of it as “Stick up position”  Okay now, start with the right arm, press up for 8 reps (remember when coming down you want to bring back to that “L” position and no lower), now bring both bent arms to the middle in front of your face, keeping the elbows in front of you and close together as you can, (try not to let the elbows flare out, maitaining the “L”), now press up with both arms together for 8 reps, now come back to the “Stick up position” and press the left arm up for 8 reps, go back to center and press up for 8, break it down to do 4 reps the whole thing and again break it down for 2 reps and that my friends is one set.

Thanks to my sadistic friend Mindy, who is just fun.  I just give her all the credit because I don’t want anymore cussing my name for that exercise, even though I teach it to get a whine out of my classes.  I love it.  It works, I am telling you, you should try this.  If you need a little somethin, somethin, to have a change and feel that lovely burn.

Well, let me go start getting Tony to kick my butt.  Why? Why?  Somebody just smack me.

You have to try this exercise!

Okay, so I did my shoulders and arms yesterday in the afternoon before my TurboKick workout.  Well, I was so sad that no one showed up.  You ever get the feeling that you are not good enough or that you are a bad teacher.  That for sure is not me.  I hate it when people don’t show.  I really take it personally.  I know I shouldn’t but I do.  I am so passionate about fitness that it kills me that people don’t put themselves first and don’t feel like they have to exercise to live.  Living is what it is all about.  Feeling good about yourself is what life is about.  Not hearing the words from the doctor telling you “You need to workout or you will die”, that should be enough for some people.  I still did my TurboKick workout by myself so that I could practice a round to teach next Tuesday.  I needed the cardio anyhow.  Then, I taught the Body Chizel class right after that.  We did one exercise for upper body, then one exercise for middle, and then one exercise for legs.  Then, started over again.  It was pretty intense.  My arms were on fire.  I had to use a smaller weights though, cause I knew right after my workout with Tony, they would be dying.  I am getting stronger though.

Well, Monday I taught my Body Chizel class to my normal morning group. Did I say normal?  They are definitely special.  They make me laugh.  We did some shoulders about two sets. We did standing alternating shoulder presses for about 16 and then put them together and did another 16.  We did front raises alternating for 16 and then put them together for another 16.  We did rear flys alternating for 16 and put them together.  Okay, so we did two sets of those.  After the two sets I really like to feel the burn in the shoulders.  I love it, love it when they moan and whine.

So, here is what you do.  Take the arms straight out like you are making a “T”.  Take the hand and flex them, another words, point the fingers up toward the ceiling and palms facing out.  Now, draw circles for 20 counts one way and the reverse for 20, after that point the fingers down with palms facing in towards the body, and do the same thing.  Make sure you are breathing.  This little exercise freakin burns and develops those pretty shoulders we like. Your arms and shoulders feel like rubber after that.  My class gets to stepping around, it is fun to watch while they are just trying to draw circles.

Try it.  You will like it.

Week Two little Slackin…

So, I must admit, week one was a little mixed up trying to wait for my shoulders and arms DVD to come in, when all along I found it the night before it came it.  I still did the workout and ended up going into the seventh day.

I did my legs and back on Sunday, and do you know it took me all week to recover from that workout.  Well, I was soooooo sore in the booty where it counts.  That was a plus!  I hated being so all week.  I will say though, I taught some strenous classes in the meantime.  I was still working those legs.

Now, for week two, I will have to admit that I did slack.  Okay, here is the deal, i forget why I missed on Monday, oh probably because I was suppose to do the “Core Synergistics” and I have to be honest here, that is a freakin hard program.  I just can’t seem to bring myself to do it.  Tuesday, I was doing TurboKick and so that worked for my Cardio X part of the plan.  I burned 471 calories.  I did do my shoulders and arms in the morning to get them over with and before my 10:30 body chizel circuit class.  I thought I could do them since I was not doing really anything physical for the class.  They were doing all the work.  :)  Nice!  Okay, so later that afternoon, I did not have anyone show up after the Yoga class :( so I did a couple of fixing up in the studio and decided to get another cardio session in.  I worked or practiced my TurboKick for Thursday since I was so rusty on Tuesday.  I am glad I did.  I felt great.  Thursday, I think I was suppose to do my Yoga X and did not do that, I ran out of time.  I can’t believe what the heck I was doing but really ran out of time.  I was mad.  I did another cardio section of TurboKick.  Friday, being the 4th of July and all, I did not have class at the studio and we were headed down to Lake Brownwood for the weekend with some friends.  I did not do anything.  I feel aweful now.

So, today being Monday, I need to kick into gear.  I already had a workout session with my class and I feel that was just a warm-up, so now I need to do the cardio X one.  I ordered the Master Series of Power 90 the cardio intervals one and viewed it yesterday on the ride back home.  it looks awesome.  I think I may do that one.  i will stay on track this week for sure.  I just need a little motivation.

I can not wait until I get the one-to-one workout with Tony Horton.  I am really excited about doing that program.  I know I must be insane.  You would think I looked like a fitness model.  I think I look pretty darn good for my age.  I just want this little fat to go away.

Tell me what you think.

Power 90X Again! :)

Last year I became a Million Dollar Body Coach.  Why? Well, the are the ones who with BeachBody have an online workout in which you could win daily prizes, i.e. ipod, vcr,dvd and much more.  I bought the starter package which came with HIP HOP ABS with Sean T, Turbo Jam with Chalene Johnson (awesome), Yoga Booty Ballet, (jury still out on this one), Slim in 6 and the beast of them all POWER 90X.  This workout will put the best shape person to shame.

Last year, I got all excited and wanted to try it out.  I recently had received my certification in Turbo Kick and had been doing that for a while.  I had been teaching step and a whole bunch of stuff at the colleges as well.  I thought I was in great shape.  So, I thought to myself, what the heck I will give it a go.  Can someone please tell me how crazy stupid I was.

The Power 90X comes with it’s own book of different eating plans.  It comes with a book on all the programs you can do.  Okay, 3 programs in all.  You are suppose to keep up with the program for 90 days and Tony guarantees that you will be ripped by the end.  I have no doubt.

I started with the classic workout.  I actually stuck with it for 3 weeks when on the 4th week, Tony gives you a break.  But not really.  The exercises he claims are light.  Right Tony.  So, since I had been doing my fitness classes at 2 colleges a total of 5 classes plus all the classes at the studio, I thought I should give my body a whole week off from the Power 90x.  Big mistake!  Well, just like normal people, I put it off and put if off because I knew the program was extremely difficult for me.  So, why in the world would I want to go back to it.  Well, I didn’t  Just like I say “A year from now you’ll wish you had started today.”  I am back in the saddle and actually have given my self a deadline to get those abs showing again.  I have to do it for the kids.

I have completed day two and it freakin wore my butt out.  Again, I am thinking what they heck am I putting myself though this torture.  A good torture though.  I will keep you posted on my progress.  Let’s see if I can make it pass week 4.

I love Tony so much and he is a great motivator that I have actually signed up for his one on one.  I totally wish I could go to California to meet him.   Someday.

Wish me luck and if you like to join me at million dollar body, just e-mail me.  myphysique@suddenlink.net.

Turbo Kick…Kick my butt:)

So, I mentioned that I am a fitness instructor.  I have to tell you that I am in pretty good shape.  I teach so many classes, which for the summer is getting to me and I am at my slow time.

I received my certification in Turbo Kick back in December of 2006 and I totally went crazy.  I love it!  It is the most awesome workout ever.  I teach it at the local universities.  Well, during the summer I don’t teach at the Universities therefore I don’t get my Turbo like I should.  I have been feeling just unmotiviated lately you all.  I need a competition or something to kick my booty into gear.  What?  I have a very good friend who teaches the Turbo for me and she is really good.  She loves to teach the Turbo so I let her.

Well, her hubby came home last night from being over in the desert, so she has taken some time off.  I had to sub.  OMG.  Teaching it and taking it are two different things.  It literally kicked my butt.  I loved it.  Then, after Turbo I had to teach a Body Chizel class.  Whew!  I was so worn out last night.  I feel like if a steamroller ran over me it would really feel good :)  Just have to keep at it.  When am I going to get time to work on my Power90X.  I need to get this fat off so I can reveal my six-pack to the kids.  Oh well, whatever.  See what I mean?  What am I going to do?  Someone please help me.
